PARTNER INFORMATION
Reaching this surf spot requires crossing an estuary. Extreme caution is recommended, as crocodiles may live in the area. Avoid crossing alone and, if possible, check with locals before entering. Local pangas are also available for a safer crossing until 5:00 p.m. Your safety comes first.
Just steps from the renowned Casitas surf point, Casa Maderas is a hideaway surrounded by nature. Set amid lush vegetation with a tropical rustic style, it combines comfort, privacy and a special location for those looking to disconnect, surf world-class waves and relax.
Casitas is at the beginning of Playa Grande, beside the Tamarindo estuary. It is a surf spot that can be easy to miss on forecasts and is a local favorite. It has three defined sandbar peaks; its lefts and rights are fun and powerful, a little more challenging than Tamarindo but less so than Langosta, with options for all levels.
